The ART Show : 2018
Art at Orleans Senior Center (AOSC) invites Orleans
artists to participate in our annual Summer art show.
June 11 - September 28, weekdays 9-4
Entries Due : Saturday, June 9, 10am-2 pm
Pick up rejected work Wednesday, June 13
Opening Reception : Tuesday, June 19, 2 - 4 pm
Awards will be given at 3 pm
Pickup all art : Friday, September 28, 10 am - 2 pm
OPEN THEME - Enter your most creative, original work.
The show is a JURIED SHOW : Juror selects art and judges show. Art contests are judged on completely subjective reviews by the juror.
AOSC welcomes all original works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, encaustics, pastel, pencil, photographs, mixed media, collage, print making, computer art and sculpture (sculptor must provide an acceptable pedestal). Work done under the supervision of an instructor or work previously exhibited at Council on Aging (COA) will not be accepted.
Maximum Entries: two entries
Entry Fee: Non-refundable, $10 for first entry. Second entry $5. Entry fees enable us to offer cash prizes.
Entry Forms & Envelope: A completed entry form for each entry + (1) stamped self-addressed envelope.
Framed size: minimum size 8”x 10”, maximum length of any side 36”. All entries must be wired on the back for hanging. No saw-tooth hangers.
Presentation: Poorly presented work will neither be judged nor displayed. Mats, frame and glass must be clean, secure and in excellent condition.
Eligibility and agreements: Entry is open to artists residing in, or working in, Orleans. Entries must remain for the duration of the exhibit – June 9 through September 27.
Registration: On Saturday, June 9 between 10am and 2pm bring:
1. one or two works (maximum)
2. $10 fee for one entry, or, $15 fee for two entries (check payable to FCOA). Fee is non-refundable.
3. (1) stamped self-addressed envelope.
Liability: AOSC will exercise due care in handling the art work but is not responsible for damage that may occur during moving or hanging or display.
Potential Sale by Artist: Works on display may be available for sale by the artist. If a piece is sold, the artist will replace the sold work with another work of similar size. A donation of 10% payable to AOSC will be appreciated.
